Video is Queen
It’s no secret that videos have become the most preferred and popular way of getting information out online. I don’t know about you, but when I’m scrolling through my facebook feed, sure my eyes see all the photos, but I am drawn to the videos. I mean, even studies show that viewers are 10x more engaged with video content over a photo or long winded article.
So, it makes sense that brands and companies like yourself are seeking ways to incorporate video content into your social media strategies. I mean, videos are an interactive way to highlight and show off products, ideas and even personalities of your staff.
Start effectively incorporating videos into your social media campaign with these 3 tips!
1. Figure out your WHAT and WHY
The easiest way to start adding video into your campaigns is to first ask WHAT. But, this can also be tied into your WHY. What is your purpose and why are you making this video? Figuring this out will help you create your approach. Are you looking to entertain? Do you want to inform viewers and give tips? Is there a specific product you was to show off? Defining your WHAT and your WHY will help you come up with ideas and game plans for the right type of content.
2. Determine the VALUE you’re offering
Next, you’re going to want to consider what VALUE you are providing the viewer. It doesn’t have to be profound or an earth shattering topic to add value. It can come in many forms like providing your audience with a provoking question, an interesting fact, a product highlight, or even a good laugh — because we all know funny videos are winning the internet right now! #facts
The people who follow your socials are there because they want to see very specific content. So remember that you should be providing relevant value for your target audience and keeping within your niche. You want your videos to resonate with that specific group of people following your account in the first place. It’s all about the balance on keeping your current followers engaged while also attracting new ones.
3. Execute a Game plan on HOW
The final step is the HOW. How are you producing the videos? Fancy software might be intimidating if you are just starting out, not to mention expensive and time consuming to learn. I mean, there’s a reason why people go to school for this. But don’t worry, thanks to technology there are a bunch of editing apps that will make producing content much easier.
We all have to start somewhere, right? Keep with the basic editing apps until you get more comfortable in your creativity. Once you’ve found your groove, you’ll be ready to invest in more advanced programs and learn the ropes of videography and editing.
A lot of influencers edit their videos on their phones through apps like, Splice. Playing around with similar apps, both free and paid, will help you familiarize yourself with editing footage as well as take off the pressure of having to learn fancy Adobe software, that us creatives love so much, right off the bat.
Videography continues to be the growing trends of digital marketing. Once you figure out your what, why, value and how, you’ll be ready to start adding video into your campaigns. But always remember, the content you produce is a reflection of your brand. Make sure your videos are professional, uniquely you and ultimately reflect what your brand represents. Every piece of content you put out is a reflection of your brand, and you want to make it the best.
