When you look at your instagram page, what type of personality or feel does it give you, if any? Are you using a color scheme? Do you have a pattern to your posts? Is it all dark, or all light? Do the images represent more than what you are selling? All of this matters when you are building a consistent instagram page.
I mean, there is a reason why consumers are drawn to pages of top influencers and brands like Nike. Their page has a vision and a purpose in representing every aspect of what makes their brand what it is today. In fact, 98% of influencers and brands have carefully planned out their page from the style, color scheme, lighting, placement and even the time of day of posting. I mean, this may sound like a daunting task, but don’t their pages look beautiful? 100%.
The good news? It actually doesn’t take as long as you would think. There are so many apps out there nowadays that will do the work for you. From the color scheme, the planning and even the posting! I mean, it doesn’t get easier than that. But with apps, you still have to have a plan on how you want to use instagram to market your personal brand or business. And you can start with these 5 quick tips on how to build a consistent Instagram page.
1. Consistent Layout
First things first, you need to figure out a layout that makes your Instagram flow. You know when you click on that one Instagram account you’re always stalking and you scroll through it and think, “Wow their feed looks SO good!” Well, they look SO good, because they stick to a consistent layout. Whether that be switching between a photo then a text-based graphic or maybe three photos then a video, it doesn’t matter how you do it, just make sure you stick to that posting pattern.
2. Build a Theme
If you could pick three words to describe your brand, what would it be? Vintage, grunge, minimal, colorful, moody? Whatever those three words may be, make sure they are reflected in your theme. But remember, your instagram theme should, of course, ultimately reflect your brand.
3. Pick a Filter
Everybody uses filters and edits their photos on Instagram and if they tell you they don’t, they’re a liar. By using the same filter on all your photos, your feed looks consistent and cohesive. Thankfully, there are plenty of photo editing apps and filters to choose from, so picking out the right filter shouldn’t be a problem!
4. High Quality Content
Your photos should be the best quality they can be. At TEPSBEST, we like to say “Stop the scroll.” But no one is going to stop scrolling and double tap for a blurry photo. You want to make sure your photos are sharp and have perfect lighting. Natural light is your best friend, use it to your advantage! And while you’re at it, make sure your background doesn’t distract the viewer from what you’re capturing in the first place.
5. HAVE FUN!
The content is almost as important as our last tip, which is to just have fun! Instagram doesn’t have to be this big scary thing that keeps you from informing and engaging followers and potential customers. Your feed won’t be what you want it to be if you’re not having fun creating it. Take the time to plan and create what you want to share with your audience. There is no right or wrong way to plan, have fun creating your feed!
