On today’s mini episode of Tepsi Talks, the creative team talks about the stigma around building a professional website on the popular drag and drop website builder, Wix.

WHAT IS WIX?

For those that do not know, Wix is a very popular drag and drop website builder that is very user friendly and allows you to build a custom website without needing to know any coding. You can choose between either manipulating one of their pre-designed templates or fully customizing your own. Wix is great for small businesses, or if you’re just starting out because it allows you to get your site up and running, FAST.

THE WIX STIGMA

The stigma around Wix is that you cannot build a professional website. However, in today’s Tepsi Talk we are breaking this stigma because it really comes down to who you have in the drivers seat designing and developing your website on behalf of your brand. When you partner with a designer who understands how to manipulate Wix to your advantage, and use the resources that Wix already has, you CAN make a beautiful website.

HOW TO USE WIX

Like we mentioned above, Wix is very user friendly and has a drop and drop building platform. You can think of it like a PowerPoint, dragging and adding content to exactly where you want it placed. But just because it’s drag and drop, doesn’t mean you are left to create a website from nothing. Wix actually will walk you through setting up your website and has various templates to choose from, narrowed down by industry.

With the templates, you can customize everything from the font selections, images, color schemes and even the layout. And the best part? You don’t have to know an ounce of coding. With this easy to use builder, a designer or individual who knows what they’re doing, can have a new website up and running within a couple of days.

WIX VS WORDPRESS

Wix and WordPress are actually pretty similar when you break it down per the solutions they offer. Wix is user-friendly for non-coders, allows you to build a website FAST, can be fully customizable, has e-commerce capabilities and allows integrations with a variety of additional apps (or plug-ins as WordPress uses). In fact, you can also even have a blog and all of the bells and whistles you’d desire that are traditionally known for WordPress. It all comes down to how you use what Wix has to offer to benefit your brand because there is a whole list of things that Wix can do that not everyone knows about.

BREAKING THE WIX STIGMA

Wix is really capturing the attention of everyone, from small businesses to designers and even developers. With the user-friendly drag and drop platform, your client or small business doesn’t have to worry about going back to a developer to make a change. In fact, they can feel comfortable logging on and making the change themselves.

What it really comes down to is who you have in the drivers seat designing and developing your website on Wix. You CAN have this clean, professional and beautiful website that guests shop on, leave their information and view your services.
