With all these dreary cloudy, snow days, it’s exciting to see something bright in 2019. The Pantone Color Institute announced that its 2019 “Color of the Year” is the playful and optimistic, Living Coral.
Color of the Year
For 20 years, the Institute has chosen a “Color of the Year.” While it may seem like just another shade of pink mixed with orange, Pantone describes the color as “an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone.”
Pantone’s team of color experts used influences in the entertainment, fashion, art and technology industries to choose the winning color.
In this digital age, everyone is looking to see what people are buying, wearing and posting on social media. Living Coral offers that earthly, humanizing tone that many brands, companies and designers will use in their upcoming products. The color will be used as a way to appeal to consumers desiring warm, intimate connections.
While Living Coral has been brightening up 2019 for a couple months now, here are some ways to freshening up your year:
Coral can be used as a way to bring a splash of color to a room. Home accessories like pillows, rugs and wall art with vivid accents of coral will add a bold splash of liveliness to any room.
Coral is the perfect combination of vivid pink-orange tones to flatter most skin tones and various hair colors. Embrace this warm color as a statement piece in your wardrobe, whether that be through a pair of heels, some jewelry, or even a coral-colored jacket.
Some might say that Living Coral was made for the makeup world. This stunning hue can be worn anywhere you go. As an added bonus, the pink-orange color can be worn anywhere on your face because of its flattering shade.
